right, which means that we should probably use this term in our public
 marketing, such as the release announcements on release day.

<imho>
i'd go so far as to suggest that we should include tools in kdesdk
 and KDevelop under this umbrella.

this would represent a new brand encompassing our devel tools and should be
 done in concert with the kdevelop, kate, etc. teams.

our distributors can include the "KDE Development Platform" as a checkbox
 item :)
