I wonder - is 'development platform' really needed? Isn't most of that stuf either part of our apps (kdevelop & friends) or platform (who cares about runtime vs compile time vs dev time)...

Imho it is a bit unneeded complexity, are there really good arguments to keep the two platforms and not just consolidate to one?
