Yep. So depending on context I wouldn't worry too much about spending time 
going through userbase/techbase removing refs to SC. It won't be in 
announcements or marketing material, but I don't think it matters otherwise. 
Going forwards, it's probably better to be more specific where possible - so 
rather than "desktop effects in SC 4.5.1" instead refer to "desktop effects in 
Plasma desktop 4.5.1".

So "KDE SC 4.x.x" is the quick fix correction for "KDE 4.x.x", but ideally and 
it's better to replace with something more specific.

Just to tweak:

as body text in an announcement

Which do we prefer for the announcement title:

"KDE Releases Development Platform, Applications and Plasma Workspaces 4.5.1"

or even something like

"KDE releases first maintenance update for 4.5 series of products"

or some other variation?

Anne's right, we need to be consistent with this. Normally this works because 
whoever does the announcement (Sebas?) just adjusts the previous announcement. 
In this case it's gone wrong because the previous bugfix announcement (4.4.x) 
was still referring to SC and that wasn't changed. As long as we get the next 
one right, we should be ok from there onwards.

Slightly offtopic, I don't know what the procedure is for review and checking 
of the release announcements, but perhaps we can beef that up a bit - I think 
probably I'd have noticed the stray 'SC's in this one.
