some text about the solid sprint and previous meetings

Hi,

I've never written a dot story. I'm not trying to. I just send you these notes 
about the solid sprint and the previous representative meetings just in case 
somebody can write one.

My english is not too good but I think you will understand what has happened

Sebastian Kügler, Release Manager and KDE e.V. Board of Directors member, is 
visiting Spain to take part on the Solid Sprint, host by UFOCoders (a local 
sponsor) in Madrid during this weekend. Before the beginning of the Solid Sprint 
Sebastian, along with Rafael Fernandez, KDE Spain VicePresident and some ASOLIF 
(The federation of free software SME associations) representatives, met some 
local representatives from Madrid City Council, and the Central Goverment (IT 
Department) to introduce KDE and KDE Spain. 

During both conversations, spanish local representatives showed interest in 
legal, economic and management aspects related with free software communities in 
general and KDE in particular. Sebastian Kügler explained the basic keys that 
are making KDE such a successful project and what are the major goals to achive 
during the following months. Rafael explained how is the relation between KDE 
Spain and the global KDE community and the specific plans to improve the local 
community. As a result of these conversations, KDE Spain will be presenting KDE 
4 next week on SIMO Networks, the most relevant IT event that takes place in 
Madrid, along with other preliminary actions in order to make KDE more popular 
in Spain.

Since ASOLIF actively supported the Gran Canaria Desktop Summit event, Sebastian 
Kügler and Pablo Gómez, ASOLIF President, talked for a few minutes about the II 
Desktop Summit that  will take place in Berlin in August 2011. Sebastian 
explained the expectations KDE have on this event and what is the current state 
of the organization.

After these meetings, the KDE developers involved in the Solid Team had lunch 
together before the begin of Solid Sprint.

Solid Sprint Day 1

The first day of the Solid Sprint could be divided in two different parts. During 
the first part, some relevant disscussions took place in order to coordinate 
efforts and knowing the state of the art of the different Solid components, going 
through the major issues that will be accomplished in the following months. 
During the second part of the session a lot of hacking on the major tasks 
decided in previous discussions took place. As it usually happens in KDE 
Sprints, the hacking session finished late at night.

It is getting clear that Solid is becomming a well defined team within KDE and 
everybody is exited about the idea of atracting more developers interested in 
hardware support to the desktop, mobile devices, netbooks, media center, etc. 
Tomorrow a log hacking day is expected so exciting news are comming.
