The design looks great to me. We have to work a bit on the text.

We also need to address some issues with the workflow. It should be much more 
welcoming. Currently it's a pretty tedious process, and ecpecially the need to 
do the email confirmation before you can do anything else is not the best 
first impression we can give.

I would suggest a simple three step signup process. First, entering the 
minimal data all in one form. Second a confirmation step showing the data, 
which was entered, with the info the this will be the final step, and what 
happens. Third, a thank you page, when the signup was confirmed.

Optionally there is the Paypal step, which would probably be after the 
confirmation step.

For the accounts we could just auto-generate passwords, so people don't have 
to enter anything. But that's just an idea to keep things simple and 
accessible.

Lots of them still apply, so it would be worth going through them and address 
what's still relevant.
