Fwd: [campkde-organizers] Camp KDE 2011

Hey all,

Any ideas for interesting ways we might be able to promote Camp KDE?  (feel
free to join the "campkde-organizers" list as Jeff mentions below as well to
continue to help with these things if interested)

* social media stuff - I just started a conversation about this on LinkedIn
as well as added it to the events calendar there (including inviting a ton
of KDE-friendly people I'm connected to).  Do we have this listed on
Facebook as an event?

* blogging - anyone up for blogging about this?  we could also use a Camp
KDE "badge" for people to use on their blogs if anyone can find time for
that.  could also re-use last year's badge if nothing new turns up.  (

* speaker proposals - first of all, is anyone besides me from Promo going to
attend this year?  :)  and is anyone interested in submitting a promo
related talk?

* we always do the stuff i mentioned so far.  anyone have any more creative
ideas for something unique we can do?  maybe some youtube "commercials" that
are camp KDE specific?  or some pre-event interviews or something?  just
thinking out loud...

I wanted to make sure you guys saw that Camp KDE 2011 has been publicly
announced: http://dot.kde.org/2011/02/05/camp-kde-2011-announced

Obviously we want to do some promo/marketing blitzes. Several people
have discussed ideas on the campkde-organizers list; it would be useful
to get some of the regulars involved as well. Probably the best way
would be for interested promo/marketing people to subscribe to
campkde-organizers...
