I appreciate the little glimpses of what's happening at the Sprint.
With this one, I imagine mango lassi, good food, and great
conversations.

There was a show at Western Washington University yesterday where I
organized the Bellingham LUG participation. It's an event that we
helped get started several years ago. My netbook with KDE was a hot
topic. Especially the students were quite drawn to the appearance and
operation (no window decorations ++good).

The CIO of WWU came by as the event was organized by the Student Help
Center that's part of his organization. He told us that the technology
was interesting, and that students, in particular CompSci and
ElectEng, are drawn to F/OSS technology. Then he said something that
is pertinent to KDE promotion and marketing...F/OSS is interesting,
and has produced some excellent technology, but the main thing that we
should be talking to WWU students about is the _community aspect of
F/OSS_. It's not readily available elsewhere, and is what he and his
WWU colleagues find most compelling about F/OSS.
