Well, they're not too bad ;-) The thing that bugs me the most is (not only in 
release notes) the complete mess re our libraries etc where:
- release notes talk about the KDE Frameworks
- the promo team talks about the KDE Platform (since that's the term we agreed 
and no one has proposed to change it)
- other people, including the kde.org homepage talk about the KDE Development 
Platform

I know there is an argument that the Platform and the Dev Platform usefully 
define two different things, but I don't have a clue how the frameworks relate 
to them. We need to sort this out, but I couldn't care less which term we go 
with as long as we are consistent :-)

Would it be possible to just ping the promo list a week (or even a bit less) 
before the release, point to a pad on etherpad with perhaps a first draft/the 
last similar release announcement as starting point and ask people to get 
stuck in?

Me, as much as possible. But there are times when I will be away and/or too 
busy. Therefore opening it out to the whole team each time is preferable imho.
