Sounds great :-) Where/how do you see this? A series of interviews (or 
straight articles) on dot.kde.org? We can set up a category so that it is 
(kinda) easy to find all the articles together...
 
Parts of the content might also be good to copy to UserBase afterwards...

Yep, but more about the apps than the people? We already have the behindkde 
series of course for people - and there are many many more people that could 
be interviewed for that... However, I like the app idea

Well, I changed the email subject at least.

So, what do you need to go ahead with this? It seems you have done plenty of 
interviews before, so maybe you can just select an app, contact the 
developer(s) with some questions and then send the interview to the Dot? Or 
would you like to discuss target apps and questions a little on this list 
first?
