Is there anyone on the kde-promo mailing list who lives near Columbus?
Someone who would be willing to coordinate a KDE presence at Ohio
LinuxFest on September 9th and 10th?

KDE is getting quite favorable attention at a high level, which is
satisfying and much appreciated. However, events such as Ohio
LinuxFest provide opportunities to connect the KDE community with
users and potential contributors in _local_ communities.

If someone would manage the KDE appearance, we can figure out how to
provide support in other ways...
- at LinuxFest NW (LFNW) in US-WA, attendees asked to be volunteer exhibit staff
- for LFNW and Bellingham LUG, we created a business card-sized
brochure instead of the customary 3-fold. Cheap, less filling, less
likelihood of becoming landfill. (BLUG images attached)
- based on my experience at LinuxCon last week, many people just want
to make contact with other KDE users. It would be handy to know
something about Plasma, but that's pretty easy...we were showing
Plasma Active with Contour, which was interesting. However, locals
were also interested in talking about how Plasma is so adaptable, and
what might be possible with the KDE products.

Local, community driven innovation could make a big difference in the
adoption of FOSS and especially KDE. Please consider representing KDE
at Ohio LinuxFest. Anyone willing to do this?

If so, something needs to happen quickly.

Carl
