Instructive that the student rate (training) is $200/day...$1200 total...for a limited number of students. And $150/day for technical sessions. However, it is possible for the free-ness of the exhibitor package could be extended to other parts of the conference. That's how it works at OSCON and LinuxCon. (We've been sending people from LinuxFest NW to both events for several years.) One more person in a workshop (who wouldn't pay anyway) doesn't matter much. Whoever the KDE contact is...could you inquire of the conference managers? Even if you don't get into the whole conference, it is valuable to interact with people in the exhibit.
