Hi,

people that work on their own, for no employer, as consultant, developer, etc. 
directly related to KDE.

Maybe this explanation is better: KDE people that make a living with KDE but 
are not running a company.

I'm thinking on people fully employed to work on KDE, a consultant that is 
very involved in KDE, a KDE designer (they are frecuently professionals), a 
professional translator, etc. Maybe you use another word. In Spain we call 
them profesionales or autonomos.
