A couple of observations about KDE Promo and Slashdot.org

KDE stories with wide appeal that appear on the Dot or PlanetKDE seem
to show up on Slashdot shortly thereafter. That's nice exposure. (Is
someone from KDE-promo feeding those stories?)

Slashdot commenters tend toward snark and repartee, although these
comments are only occasionally intelligent or humorous. Thick skin is
recommended for reading /. comments if one is at all invested in the
original story. It strikes me that many Dot anonymous comments have
had a similar insult-driven/can't you take a joke/free speech RULZ!
tone. Sticking to the KDE Mission and Code of Conduct is refreshingly
different.

This morning, there was a Slashdot story about the Beginner's Guide to
KDE Development
(http://dot.kde.org/2012/02/05/kde-development-%E2%80%93-beginners-guide).
Rohan Garg was part of that team and contributed the Dot story. He saw
a Slashdot comment about the lack of a link to the online version.
Apologized personally and graciously, even though it wasn't his fault.
He emailed dot-editors. Within 15 minutes it was fixed. Outstanding
example of how KDE works. Thank you, Rohan!
