Kubuntu Status

I saw a couple of notices, today, about Kubuntu being less supported internally by Canonical. It sounds like the community will be more important as the primary Canonical employee who worked on Kubuntu is being reassigned. Is there any need to discuss the change of status? KDE is an upstream effort, mainly, and the distribution chosen by a user isn't apparently KDE's concern. It happens that I am a KDE Kubuntu user because the distribution has served me well. I'm wondering if my habits will change. It is too soon to tell, of course. Kubuntu will be fully supported for the 12.4 Long Term Support release. The other "flavors" like Xubuntu do not have a Canonical staff person, either. The last KDE demo disk was based on OpenSUSE with version 4.6 Does anyone have a recommended perspective to use when answering questions? I am about to go to Northeast Linux Fest in Worcester, Massachusetts (USA) for a KDE booth. I'd like to say the right things to people. I'm getting CDs from more than one distribution to have at the table.
