I saw one KDE screencast on Youtube that started with an animated gear. I
don't remember if it was intentionally or not - I found out that it was a
splash screen - but at that time, I thought it was really cool. You can see
it in System Settings -> Workspace Appearance -> Splash Screen ->
Minimalistic -> Test Theme.

How about using this animation (+ possibly the wallpaper of the current
version?) + text? It would be nice if we could decide font and size as well.

In general I think it would be great if there were more KDE screencasts.
This would most likely require collaboration, for example, one who comes up
with the content and text, someone who records and edits, and possible
another person who narrates.

These are all things I've thought about, but I'm afraid I don't have much
time to help. Maybe someone else in kde-promo would be interested in
coordinating this?
