KDE Booth setup advice

I'm wanting to promote KDE at a local even that takes place in my
hometown of Florence, AL. The event is called First Fridays, and here
are the guidelines:

The mission statement is:
"To provide an event for artists, representing all forms of the arts,
as a vehicle for public awareness in a community that celebrates the
arts. Also to provide an atmosphere that promotes the vitality of our
downtown shopping district as a whole."

The second part can be taken as this event promotes business in that
area since people will be walking, not driving by the locations and
having time to look into what local businesses are doing. So, it
doesn't affect the booth, the first sentence, however, is of interest
to me and I'm guessing this group for related events. I can easily
show how the graphic design tools are of immediate importance to
artists, that's not a problem, but how can you effectively promote KDE
as an art? What is it about KDE that is so elegant and beautiful and
how do you approach others with this info?

I was planning on tackling this from the point of view that the
desktop is aesthetically pleasing. The emotions that are incited while
using such a system are similar to those that can be had from well
designed traditional artwork; and for programmers, a similar feeling
is also had from writing and using the underlying elegant algorithms.
From an economic standpoint, since it seems this is something of
importance, a KDE based linux distro most likely improves efficiency
in and out of the workplace since the user isn't bogged down malware,
spyware, trojans, etc. KDE's activities manager makes KDE one of the
most flexible and efficient computing environments in and outside of
the workplace as well.

I've been brainstorming ideas in #kde-promo on freenode, and I'll keep
everyone up-to-date on the progress of this endeavour.
