Hello to all of you,

things went a bit quiet about the tablet-project in Lower
Saxony/Niedersachsen in Germany. But they went on with speed.

After a workshop within the official Lower-Saxony
Media-consultant-system for schools with topic 'Free Knowledge - Free
Software' a question for presenting a more or less open tablet appeared:

[quote]

I owned a WeTab and feel enthusiastic about PlasmaActiveTwo, but the
WeTab-hardware is too poor to cope with - even cheaper -
multimedia-tablets. For to prepare (and present) an other system I do
not have enough money/knowledge/time.

In a one-day workshop I would prepare to present the difference to a
common Android or iOS-system from educational and political view.

So I seek (THE MAXIMUM):
An IT-professional with an insight view to KDE-Plasma-Active and with
about 15 prepared (maybe different) tablets and fully working OS
including a touch-optimized office-suite, mutimedia-player and working
multimedia-devices. This person presents also a glossy booklet where to
buy at least 30 of these machines and a second booklet from an
IT-company which offers support to interested schools.

Alternatively there is someone out there (THE EXTREME MINIMUM):
Who could present ONE fully working tablet, at least with an
office-suite, multimedia-player and browser. A (external) camera for
creating documentations would be great. Unfortunately Aaron Saigo's
VIVALDI-tablet seems to be no choice, because this device is too small.

When: In June or beginning July.
Where: In the Zentrum für Informationstechnologien und Medienbildung
(ZIM) of the NLQ in Hildesheim near Hannover/Germany

Please contact me very soon!

There is an open door to establish a KDE-tablet in schools. All of the
proprietary tablet-systems own heavy disadvantages, which appear much
more negative in school-environment. So please support this workshop.

Daniel
