Just to be clear: I won't be available in the next 10 days, so a backup is not 
enough. If there's no announcement text, it'll be a note on our website 
without any meat, severely limiting the outreach of the release (or maybe, we 
just cannot release at all without proper announcement). I'll be able to maybe 
proofread an article and put it online on release day, but certainly not write 
it.

Somebody needs to step in and start on this, I simply don't have the time for 
that.
