Provide all the information you can about the release. Don't worry
about things like "sounds stiff"; creating and editing are different
activities. Write everything you can think of that pertains to the
release. And only after that, come back and edit. You still don't have
to get it just right, because dot editors edit. If the ideas are
there, we'll be able to make it read well.

Putting an announcement on the Dot gets the information to a wide
audience. Who is this announcement for? What is your intended
audience? If someone like that wanted to know everything about the
release, what would you say? What would you say to someone who thinks
that KVM means keyboard, video, mouse...someone who is not familiar
with what Neon is about, but would probably try it out if they _did_
know.

I just looked at

https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/ProjectNeon These seem to add quite a
bit to the story. But after reading those, it's not clear what's
important about the release. Is it:
"These KVM images allow users of different Linux distributions and
operating systems to use KDE built from Git without the need to
install Kubuntu..."
or
"bleeding edge stuff provided by GIT/SVN KDE"?

If you figure out who you're talking to and what message you want them
to get, writing the announcement will be easier. Think about someone
who fits within your intended audience and write everything that
person should know to be enthusiastic about the release.

Don't be concerned with length, content is what's important.
