The official font is Kabel. There's a link at the bottom of

It needs to look like two distinct words.

The bitmap is close enough to one of the standard desktop backgrounds
that it should be accurate to that image. It looks like "Air"
stretched. This background was the default in a previous release. It
is a well known image and people are likely to react negatively
(especially the exceptionally picky artist). The image is fine. You
could just crop it to the required size. "Air" wallpaper image is
attached.

I think that a small screen shot is fine--it depicts Plasma Workspaces
and gives readers something concrete to relate to. The background of
the screenshot should be something more current; Blue Curl was the
background quite a few releases back. Please let the list know if you
need an up-to-date screenshot.

I agree with Martin, the Claire dedication is too big. Also...her
photo has a different aspect ratio than the original. As it is
currently, readers of the magazine have no context for her picture or
the dedication. I suggest the URL for the release announcement
(http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.9/), a small picture in color, and
a short phrase dedicating the release to the memory of Claire Lotion.

The release is the news, a key topic of the ad. KDE is a topic of the
ad. KDE is the lasting image the ad should leave with people. The
dedication to Claire how the KDE Community treats its members. The
release and KDE should be featured most prominently.

The blue piece at the top left is distracting. I understand the art of
it. It just doesn't work for me either.

The KDE logo and KDE in Kabel font are highly recognizable. They
should be featured prominently. "beautifully free" works well.

Sans serif. Liberation Sans, Nimbus Sans L, Bitstream Vera Sans


Thank you for working on this. It's tough to do art by committee. In
this case, the ad is a statement representing the entire KDE
Community. So there will be varying opinions and we're not shy about
expressing them. They are not a reflection on you or your work.
