You realy dont want to open that can of worms :)
If it was up to me we would ahve removed the systemtray from the main panel a
long time ago... a system try is not a task manager, as the name implies a
system tray is for system wide thingies...

aplications ended up abusing the system try for their hown thing and in may
way it works a minimised taskbar, confusing the users.

the monochome icons..... well it was my try to make aplication developers do
the right thing, I would not do any monochome icon for them unless they would
find a way to share the systry among their selfs and use it for its intent,
example insted of a kopete try icon we would have a IM icon shared by all your
IM like apps, intead of a a marock icon we would have a media playing icon
shared by all media playing apps, etc etc

That didnt worked out...

about users complaining, im sure if we put the try icons in colors again, we
will have twice as many users complaining...every time we chage anything
people complain, its a fact of life. I bet there are stil tons of people
complaining about the new folder icons
