What is involved, other than getting the release announcement put together? 
I'm sure there's plenty else that has to be done, but that's the only bit I've 
ever seen. Can you detail what your role involved for, e.g., the last release?

(By the way, I'm not volunteering to be your successor here - I'll continue to 
help with the release announcements as I've always done, but whether I can 
commit to other things depends on what they are).

Also, who is on the release-team mailing list and what is that for?

Just trying to get a sense of how things work now and the best way to tackle 
this in future.
