I thought about that because most of those vendors have an option to pre-load 
anything onto the device but I think the payload depends a lot on the 
occasion.

E.g. if we are sharing a booth with a distributor at some event we should use 
their life image.

At a "non-linux" event, e.g. CeBit, it might be better to have a Windows/Mac 
readable device instead and have Windows/Mac packages on it. Or use a smaller, 
tailored Linux life-image in addition to such software packages.

At a developer oriented event like FOSDEM the payload could contain a full 
checkout of all KDE sources, offline-versions of KDE developer documentation 
or some such.

One of the cool things I learned while searching different vendor sites is 
that those device can come in all forms and shapes.

E.g. one form that fits our square'ish logo extremely well

Or one that can be worn as an armband

and due to its length allows for a message.
One potential use case for those that came to my mind was sending those to 
Join the game members who have been with us for a certain period, e.g. three 
years, and something like "KDE - Thank you for being part of our team".
