Hi Jörg,

I'm sorry to bother you, it seems our communication about our release has not
been clear enough. I see that in this article:
http://www.golem.de/news/freier-desktop-kde-sc-4-11-schliesst-die-4er-reihe-ab-1308-101033.html

you write that KDE SC 4 will not get any new functionality. The KDE Platform
("kdelibs") has been frozen last year, the 4.11 release of the workspaces will
be long term supported, but feature frozen, applications will be released
(including features) until further notice.

The scheme here is that likely in the future we will not release all three
parts (libraries, workspaces, apps) together, but separately, as they are
developed (somewhat) independently, but also target different groups of users.
(Apps and libraries for example run on a variety of Operating Systems, the
workspaces target mainly Linux/Unix.)

All in all, the state is:
KDE Libraries: in freeze since 4.9, team working on 5.0
KDE Workspaces: in freeze since 4.11, team working on 2.0 (!)
KDE Applications: not in freeze, at least 2 more releases to go.

In december, we plan to release a preview release of Frameworks 5, the KDE
libraries. A final release could be expected (optimistically) in the first half
of next year.

I am looking for help communicating this
(http://blog.jospoortvliet.com/2013/08/help-kde-communicate-frameworks-5-and.html ) as it is a bit complicated, I suppose. There is help now so expect
an article on this in the coming weeks!

Again, sorry for the confusion. I hope you can fix the article.

Greetings and thanks,
Jos Poortvliet
