I think it is an excellent idea.

Pfff, several. I have started a while ago to try and do an interview with 
some new people in KDE PIM but I haven't had time to follow through on their 
responses. You could take over.

Or, instead, you can interview some of the folks behind KDE Games or Edu; or 
Calligra. Lots of places...
