Ubuntu has both Ubuntu Fridge for fairly boring and formal news announcements and OMG Ubuntu which is more fan-user focused and opinionated and with pretty pictures. An OMG equivalent for KDE would be fun but a lot of work and currently the Dot is struggling for editors as it is.
