Re: AMA on reddit for the goals

There's a few things to consider if we want to get the most out of this.

Reddit traction is usually better in the first half of the week. The best time would be in the ballpark of 19:00 UTC. That time slot captures the afternoon slackers in the USA as well as Europeans who are settling in at home.

Set aside four hours for answering questions. There's nothing Reddit hates more than AMAs that end prematurely. Some disappointingly short AMAs have lived on as memes for years afterward.

One account should do all the talking. It will appear in a unique color and allow users to easily notice an official response. If we require multiple people on hand to provide answers, share the credentials and stick names at the end of replies.

Promo team members should be on hand to supervise the choice of questions and wording of answers. All involved should be coordinating in real time while the AMA is ongoing.

The r/Linux subreddit is the way to go if we're trying to communicate our goals for the year instead of fielding generalist questions about KDE's products and mission.

I think it's a great idea, as was the IRC chat. Getting out there and talking with end users in the wider Linux community is a great way to show we really care about delivering the best desktop experience for everyone.
