Dear promo team,

I will be introducing KDE in the Automotive Linux Summit[1] in Tokyo in a couple of
weeks. The talk was on the wait-list and I got confirmation yesterday of its acceptance
after another speaker canceled his talk.

This action is part of the initiative that started in the past Akademy, driven on the
technical side by Volker Krause with my support on no-technical activities, to raise
awareness about KDE software in an industry that is opening itself to Open Source.

ALS is an event organised by the Linux Foundation on yearly basis in Japan. I have
participated in previous editions and 2/3 of the participants are Asians, specially from
Japan and Korea. It is a mostly technical event and the last few editions is heavily
influenced by the growth that AGL[2] is experiencing.

According to our plan, the idea at this event is simply to introduce KDE. We will be more
aggressive in terms of awareness of our technical effort at ELCE[3] and AGL AMM[4].

I will appreciate any help/input you can provide me for the talk. I do not have a KDE
template. I would love to see this presentation consolidated so we can re-use it in further
events.

This is my initial ToC

* Why is KDE at ALS
* KDE basic description
** Community
** Organization and governance
*** Free Qt Foundation is extremely relevant in this environment.
** Software
** Other activities
* KDE evolution
* Released software
** KDE Frameworks 5
** KDE Plasma 5
** KDE Applications
* Ongoing work
** KDE Frameworks on YOCTO
** Plasma mobile
** Kirigami
* Links and data for any attendee to download and try out our software.
* Takeaways

The key messages in my opinion are:
* Solid FLOSS project.
* Experts in interfaces and application for different environments, devices and target
users.
* Outstanding application developers ecosystem, like no other in the FLOSS space.
* Taking solid steps to shorten the gap to become of interest to the automotive FLOSS
ecosystem.
