There are a lot of things going on simultaneously and a lot of tasks on the workboard. I, for one, find it hard to keep track of everything and everybody. > and of course he > did open a Workboard item for the purpose > https://phabricator.kde.org/T10131 . Or you could have just said. You are on the Promo often, something I find reassuring. When you saw the rest of us struggling, you could've just pointed out the task or directly to the person we were supposed to talk to and that would've saved a lot of time. I understand, though: It is not obvious how much stuff we still don't know and what is obvious to you, an old-hand if ever there was one, is not so obvious to the many of the rest of us. That is why we tried to set up a subgroup of liaisons, so that people with more experience and that had a foot in each camp could assist with these kind of things. It may time to re-visit this task and make it a bit more formal. It would definitely have helped this time around. > > > The article > > > on Dot is great but would be been better written a few days before so > > > it could be the main announcement. > > > > Can you explain this? Okay. We were working under the premise that the dot should have a more informal and chatty tone than the formal official announcement. Hence, we thought that we were looking for two different texts and therefore that it didn't matter if the dot text was ready after the official text. We did look over and edit the official announcement text and pushed some changes, but left it as close as to the original as possible, firstly because it was in general fine, secondly because we thought it was best to not tamper too much with IT, lest we deviate too much from what the developers wanted to say and put our foot in it. Be as it may, the announcement didn't work out so bad, right? It is good to have these feedback discussions so we can work on shortcomings and make sure things work smoother the next time around, which I am sure they will.
