Remember IRC or Matrix or Telegram have no paper trail and everyone who is not in the same timezone when a discussion happens totally misses out. Even if you make it a Phabricator discussion, not a word in 7 days on an original request is really keeping people out of the loop. FWIW: I do not use Matrix and have no intention to, why should I use something else than a mailing list if a discussion is started in a mailing list?
