"Green Out" KDE.org for COVID-19 relief?

Last year we participated in the Digital Climate Strike alongside many other tech organizations. The organizers at Fight for the Future are reaching out to all participants in preparation for their next event.

They want us to use our website and social media presence to help promote Earth Day Live, a three day livestream event which aims to raise $1 million for COVID-19 relief before Earth Day.

Is this something we want to throw our weight behind?

If KDE were to become involved, it would likely involve a banner and popup on KDE.org, just as we did with the digital climate strike.

From April 22-24, millions will join together on Earth Day Live to raise $1 million to support COVID-19 relief efforts, and help us avert the next big catastrophe. So the team behind the Digital Climate Strike <https://digital.globalclimatestrike.net/> (FFTF, 350.org <http://350.org>, ClimateAction.Tech and many more) are teaming up again to mobilize the Internet behind Earth Day Live from April 22-24.



Can KDE leverage your platform and social media channels in the lead-up to make this as big as possible?



Here are some ways you can help:


Raise awareness of Earth Day Live on your website leading up to it (April 14-21) with a smaller banner, widget, or popup linking to the Earth Day Live website.


“Green Out” your website or app for a day or more during Earth Day Live. There will be lots of options for responsive web and mobile, from a full website takeover to a green background, persistent banner, or a simple popup. Apps can send push notifications. We’ll provide you with sample code snippets, if you want to join.
