It seems =E2=80=98views=E2=80=99 is a form of currency, mu= ch like =E2=80=98likes=E2=80=99. I think your marketing people are giving too much importance to "likes" and= =20 "views" and losing sight of the main goal: "coverage" and "conversions". Li= kes=20 and views are of no value unless they come with the goods of people actuall= y=20 visiting your sites, and then you would not care where those visits were=20 coming from, even if they were from (*gasp!*) PeerTube. That said, we're fine with this. We will also remove the one video we have= =20 already uploaded from you to PeerTube. KDAB will lose that viewership, but marketing knows best, right? ;-) The la= st=20 thing we want is a conflict with one of our most valued supporters. > I hope you will nonetheless be able to persuade your colleagues in KDE it > will be OK to link to the videos on Youtube and hope you can find a > creative way round it for folks unable to access it. When the time comes, we will create a playlist on our YT account (which is= =20 what we were going to do anyway) and aggregate your video only on YT throug= h=20 that. Our original idea was to be able to give you coverage on YT _AND_ PeerTube,= =20 adding coverage, not subtracting from it. Since it is highly unlikely that= =20 YouTube viewers will go out of the way to go to PeerTube to watch your vide= os =20 we were not expecting this to affect negatively your viewing numbers -- and= =20 indeed it wouldn't have. But sure, whatever. > There hasn't been a publication date announced yet, but I=E2=80=99m expec= ting April, > and will keep you posted. Perfect. > Have a good week end! You too!
