Plasma software consists of many components.

> plasma6-plasma            KDE Plasma 6 Desktop (meta port)
This meta port installs all of Plasma components available for FreeBSD.

> plasma6-plasma-desktop    KDE Plasma Desktop
This port installs Plasma shell for desktop, or simply Plasma Desktop.

There are other types of the Plasma shells, e.g Plasma Mobile is a shell for
mobile devices, Plasma Nano is intended for embedded devices, but we do not
package them.

If comments for plasma6-* ports are confusing I may suggest something like 

"KDE Plasma 6 Desktop Environment (meta port)" for x11/plasma6-plasma and
"KDE Plasma shell for desktop form factor" for x11/plasma6-plasma-desktop.
