https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=295310 --- Comment #11 from Maxnix <[email protected]> --- Ok, I applied the patch and reporting back. However, I first have to apologize because seems tiredness hit me pretty badly, and have reported incorrect informations in comment #6: I wrote that the leak was in the order of kilobytes, when it was in the order of *bytes*! So this is surely the reason why Andriy Gapon's update was at odds with mine. I apologize again for such a silly error! That said this is what I observed: - When using systemmonitor or plasma widgets there is an increase of memory usage, usually of 4 bytes about every 2-3 hours: since it is so low should this be considered normal? - If ksystemstats is started due to systemmonitor, it terminates toghether with systemmonitor, but if it is started due to plasma widgets it keeps running even if all widgets are removed (should it?); in this context I tried to see how it would behave if I launched systemmonitor: it allocates some more bytes *every time* I start the program, and doesn't seem to free it when systemmonitor is closed, so I wanted to know if there is a threshold from which it begins freeing memory or if this is a sign of a leak too. P.S. how I said, I use KDE neon user edition as a reference, could you please tell me if it is the right choice or if I should follow another procedure to verify if the behaviour of a KDE related software is correct or not? Thank you in advance. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
