Hmm, no answer from any officials, interesting.=20

I wrote this letter today:

Hi KDE-Board,

I just wanted to let you know, that KDE, my favorite desktop since 26 years=
,=20
is about to pass away from my workstation/laptops due to the move away from=
 X.=20
With the Wayland based desktop, it is missing an essential feature for me:=
=20
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D377162.

With that, it feels stupid to keep up with my quarterly donation to KDE e.V.

What a pity.

Be assured, that without this feature, a lot of people will turn away from=
=20
KDE. While looking like a minor feature difference to many, for those that =
use=20
it in their daily routines, it will be missed badly. Either, we change our=
=20
habits completely, or find an alternative desktop (window manager), that wi=
ll=20
still provide it.

Best,
Pete

P.S.: Apart from supporting openSUSE, maintaining more than one hundred=20
packages on OBS, including Blender, I used to maintain {SuSE,openSUSE} base=
d,=20
multi headed diskless workstation setups for some companies, using KDE 1,2,=
3,=20
and 4, starting in 1999. So, I do provide my share of 2=C2=A2s to the Open-=
Source=20
community.

Life without chameleons is possible, but pointless.
