1.4.1 minor issues

I've been using 1.4.1 for the past couple of days, and I've tripped over two 
minor issues, one new and one that seems to go back a while.

Both are related to selecting files in Browse mode using the keyboard.

The issue that's been around for a while: Imagine that you have a large 
directory full of images.  You're weeding through them and tossing most of 
them out.  For convenience's sake, let's suppose that you decide to get rid 
of all of the images with filenames starting with L through P.  You hit L and 
the first file starting with L is selected.  Now you hit Shift-Q and the 
first file starting with Q is selected.  Hit Delete and note that the 
confirmation dialog shows only the Q file.  Cancel the deletion and then do 
L, Shift-Q, Shift-Left Arrow.  Now *all* of the files from L through P are 
selected.  So we've got an inconsistency in the behaviour: Either Shift-Q 
should select all files from the first L to the first Q (which is what I 
expected, since the Shift key is on) *or* the Shift-Left Arrow should only 
select the last P file and the first Q file.

The new issue: In previous releases, it was possible to use Shift-Home and 
Shift-End to select a range of files (as in the previous case).  In 1.4.1, 
this does not work -- Shift-Home and Shift-End don't do anything.

Possibly related to both issues:  Try this sequence:
Select any file in the middle of the directory.  Hit Home and the first file 
is selected (or End to select the last file).  Now hit Shift-Arrow.  All 
files between the current file and the file that was selected before you hit 
Home or End are selected.  Shouldn't unshifted Home and End discard any 
knowledge of previous selections in the same way that clicking a file or 
hitting a letter key does?
