I would agree that the behaviour of the shift arrows is correct; my point is 
that shift letters should work the same way -- in the above example, Shift-Q 
should select all files from the first L to the first Q (Q and Shift-Q should 
work differently, just as Up and Shift-Up work differently).

I'm not sure exactly when this broke.  I just checked a machine running stock 
SUSE 10.1Rebuild, which has 1.4.0, and it's broken there, but I know it was 
working in the previous stable release.  Perhaps it was a casualty of adding 
the filtering?
