yes, it crashes!
(before I installed version 2.2 from Debian that doesn't support videos,
version 3.x support videos and crash like gwenview)

workaround: what about allow to disable video support in configuration?

Yes, I know, is not the correct way to do it. That's called workaround
while is fixed the crash in some other unspecific (now) point (kparts,
libxine, etc.)
