Because I didn't receive your patch :-). Seriously, no real reason other than 
that I don't have a use for it. But I agree with your other mail: it's quite 
standard, so it should be there.

I would like to have such a feature, I have some experimental code which does 
cross fading between images. But it was too experimental to be ready for KDE 
4.0.

Hum... you mean you put an audio file in your photo dir and it gets played 
when you start a slideshow? wouldn't it be simpler to just let the user 
select an audio file to play when a slideshow starts?
