Zooming slider

Hello,

I have been asked by quite a few users to move the zooming actions to 
the status bar and to introduce a zooming slider. I just committed the 
beginning of this work.

I am still unsure whether I like it or not. It would be great to have 
your opinion on it. User experience might be better once I optimize the 
code for zoom values < 100%. I still have to work on it.
