For your information, Gwenview 1.4 used the JPEG comment, not the IPTC 
one. (There can be at least 3 comments in a JPEG file: JPEG, EXIF and IPTC)

Sorry, but this is feature has not been ported yet. Gwenview 2.1 
features an optional, experimental, Nepomuk support which lets you 
annotate any image, but the annotation is not embedded in the image file.
