1. זכויות יוצרים לא קשורות לעניין בכלל, אתה אולי מתכוון לשמות וסימנים
   רשומים (Trademarks).

2. השם Unix כלל אינו בבעלות סאן, אלא נשלט על ידי ה-Open-Group
   שמתירה ליצרני מערכות הפעלה להשתמש בו כשהם עוברים תהליך סרטיפיקציה
   (יקר מאוד). לדוגמא, Sun ו-HP משתמשות בשם הזה עבור מערכות ההפעלה
   שלהן (Sunos ו-HPUX) לעומת IBM שבחרה לא להשתמש בו עבור AIX.
   מערכת לינוקס לא הוגשה לסרטיפיקציה כזו ולכן מבחינת השם הרשמי
   לינוקס אינה יוניקס.

3. למיטב ידיעתי (IANAL), כאשר מתייחסים למערכת שקבלה את השם יוניקס,
   אין מגבלה להשתמש בשם כדי להתייחס אליה. באופן דומה, אינך צריך
   לבקש רשות ממישהו כדי לספר שאתמול שתית "קוקה-קולה" (אם אתה מתייחס
   למשקה שקיבל את הרשות להשתמש בשם זה ולא בתחליף).
