K3b locks up computer on program launch - 1.0.1

K3b 1.0 on Kubuntu Feisty (7.04)
EDIT: Upgraded to 1.0.1 and there is no difference :-(

Not sure if this is a bug or just me. Whenever I launch K3b, always,
without fail, it locks up my computer, entirely, cannot move the mouse, no
keyboard response, &c. Only manually power cycling the machine gets it back
up. This has only happened since I updated to K3b and Kubuntu Feisty (which
I did at the same time).

Below is the Konsole output (or also at http://rafb.net/p/tjGa5e22.html);
can anyone tell me what the problem is or at least decipher some of the
output?

Thanks.
