k3b device scan stops pppd

Hi,

my dvd rewriter is /dev/sr0. I also have a wireless USB modem with which 
I run pppd. The modem comes with a mass storage controller built in and 
is /dev/sr1.

On start, k3b scans all available devices and naturally finds that 
/dev/sr1 is no good for anything.  After the device scan has finished, 
kppd stops, my internet connection is lost and the /dev/sr1 node is gone 
until udev adds it again.

Is there a way to tell k3b to only scan /dev/sr0?
