DVD burning slowdown

Greetings,

I have a problem with DVD recording. I have a 16x capable recorder
(LiteOn SHW-16H5S) and 16x capable media to burn on. However, after a
few moments (~15-20% complete), the burning process slows down, almost
stops for a while, and then continues to burn at rate not exceeding 6x.
This has been happening ever since I've bought my first DVDx16 recorder.
Now I'm using k3b 1.0.3, growisofs 7.0 and still have no idea why does
this bug persists. Any ideas?
