I Have a homebuilt with an AMD 1600 with 2 gigs ram. Running Ubuntu Gutsy with K3b 1.0.4. When I try to rip a cd to OggVorbis for my portable player K3b starts fine. anywhere from the third to the sixth track it freezes the computer. The only way to back out is to reboot. Then I have to reboot two to three times as the first couple of reboots also freeze. No error messages. K3b works fine burning cds. Cpu usage when ripping stays between 87&93%. memory usage stays at 13%. swap file never gets touched. I have tried reloading K3b. No help. Under settings in K3b I have tried changing the buffer size with no help. Any Ideas?
