permissions on write with K3b

I have created an archive (using KDAR) and use k3b 1.0.4 with KDE 3.5.9 
release 51.2 on SUSE 10.2 to burn it to a dvd-rw. The archive shows the user 
as owner and the group as users. After writing to the Dvd the owner is root 
and the group is root. Restore then fairs on many files with access denied.

I notice in k3brc there is a parameter retain permissions = false. can I 
change this to true as I find no way in the menu settings to do it.
