Actually my problem is not with K3b. It appears to be an OS problem. I'm trying to install turbotax under Wine. But it changes file names because the Joliet names and paths appear to exceed the length allowed. example: ~/.wine/c:/Program Files/TurboTax/TurboTax Basic 2007/TaxContent/App_07/view/audit_introduction_screen.screen When you install under wine the file name becomes: audit_introduction_scre.screen Tried coping file onto harddrive and renaming but it did not work. Also found around 80 additional files that had name problem. Renamed all of them and tried installing from hard disk directory but it errored out. Gave up and used XP to do my tax. The file names are correct when installed in XP. When I use k3b to try and bring in the file with correct name it also drops the characters. It is something in the program that actually handles the Joliet I think. At least that is what I got in answer on SUSE list from Marcus Meissner "I guess this is really a CDROM filesystem issue. I am however out of ideas how to really get the full length pathnames. Perhaps you can try fiddling with "Joliet" related mount options. Ciao, Marcus Not sure how to find Joliet related mount options! I know the problem exists on opensuse 10.3 and 11.0alpha2. Also on 10.2 but that system has been upgraded to 10.3.
