Thanks for the reply. No, as far as I know I am not using the "testing repository". Synoptic lists several repositories. At first I assumed they were all mirrors of each other. Then I discovered the one I first chose had little in it, and the others had much more. So, I activated several for the search option. I didn't ask this question to the PCLinuxOS group, but should I just be using one repository? And if so, which one? A user wants access to all possible applications - of course.
