K3b locks computer when run

I'm using Kubuntu 7.0.4. Yesterday I had KDE update K3b and some other things 
(Python and KDevelop) and now when I run K3b, it totally locks the computer 
up. The mouse freezes and nothing responds at all. I have to press reset to 
recover.

I left it for almost an hour once and it was still locked up.

Here is the output of uname -a:

Linux CSE 2.6.20-14-generic #2 SMP Mon Apr 2 20:37:49 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

My computer is an AMD dual core, 64-bit with 2g RAM. The DVD is a Liteon. It 
plays DVDs and CDs fine, but I've never been able to burn with it under 
Linux.

Anyone know what the problem could be? Please let me know if I need to supply 
more info.
